On The Western Front
Traveling can oftentimes be hard when you’ve got two little ones running around. When planning a recent trip, we decided to stay relatively close to home and travel to a Southwestern beauty – Arizona.
So dynamic this part of the country is; I can never get over the landscape here. With so much history to see, the kids were easily entertained and truly learned a lot! Because of how much Native American influence there is, everyone got to experience the beauty of tradition and the art of hand-made. To be able to see all that they’ve only heard about in both history books and fantastic fairy tales, they were able to really grasp the utter preciousness of all that the culture has to offer. Being able to get in and see teepees and hand carved weaponries (of the bow and arrow variety were my son’s particular favorite!), truly astounded them.
As you see here, artwork made of feathers and other natural wonders could easily make their way into any adult’s heart. Can you see this above a mantle or in an entryway?! As mentioned earlier, the most beautiful landscape and architecture were wonderful to explore. All in all, our adventure truly stood out as a very memorable for them and us – quality time well spent, and thus another beautiful part of this country seen, heard and loved.
