A: What you surround yourself with at home is in direct correlation to how you feel, particularly in an everyday way. Often times we buy something quickly to fill a need, only to find out it doesn’t fit, or isn’t comfortable or isn’t the best in quality.

At the start of 2016, Turnstyle had the great fortune of being selected for an episode of HGTV’s House Hunter’s Renovation. We were paired with a young couple who just purchased their first-time home in south Austin by way of upstate New York.

Flowers may bloom overnight, but your home décor certainly doesn’t. Sometimes, it takes a while for your dream space to blossom. Lieve Saether recently sat down with Cottages and Bungalows Magazine to discuss how she helped a frustrated Family to realize the clean, modern space of their dreams.

Growing up between Belgium and the U.S., interior designer Lieve Saether was raised by an artistic family who emphasized the importance of “boundary-less thinking on art, space, and everyday objects.”

Says the designer, “The art of not only beauty, but quality, craftsmanship and origin have always been essential to me. As an art history and fine arts major studying at University in Brussels, in a way it was inevitable that I became an interior designer.” Along with her husband and two children, Saether moved to Austin in 2007 where she launched Turnstyle Design.

A great struggle for any parent of a teen is asking them to keep their bedroom clean. How can you create a functional space that promotes organization, but also creates a safe haven where they will love spending their time?

When you think of designing a room in your home, the mind does not immediately go to the ceiling. In fact, the ceiling probably never even enters the equation.
